    • Thanks. I think I was most moved by the crosses for fallen soldiers of the War on Terror at Santa Monica Beach. At that time, Australia had lost maybe 2 men but the USA had lost a couple of thousand. Each cross was to represent a lost person. Many had names on them along with flowers and messages. One of the crosses had the simplest message of all, “Sorry”. I was transfixed to the area for ages soaking the enormity of it all in.

  1. These are beautiful mixedgems, as others have said, really powerful images. I especially like the santa monica beach (love the light), the sculpture by the sea (the composition), and the mount macedon memorial cross (light and composition!). Happy WW!

    • Thanks. I’m glad to have moved you. Images can do that for me too. As I mentioned to another comment, I was most moved by the crosses for fallen soldiers of the War on Terror at Santa Monica Beach. The enormity of the war and the grief amongst Americans was tangible, something not that obvious back home in Australia. I was especially moved by one of the crosses which had the simple message, “Sorry” stuck to it. It was very hard not to be deeply moved.

    • Thanks. It’s in my mum’s garden, a garden she poured a lot of love into with special nooks and crannies for the grandkids to enjoy. I love the little features she found to make it so personal.

Thanks for dropping by and sharing your thoughts!
