June 6/30 Photo Challenge + Post: From a Low Angle + The Memory in Images

Sometimes you have to deliberately look at an object from a new perspective to see something amazing.

I don’t think it’s obvious from the image but it’s a photo of a conical skylight with residual rain droplets and condensation resting on the glass. In the distance is the bluest of blue skies. I find the whole composition fascinating, especially since I’ve stood under this skylight on numerous occasions and never noticed it.

It also brings back memories of a photo I took of my husband looking up towards the ceiling at the Guggenheim Museum in New York City. It’s not only this photo that comes to mind but the wonderful experience I’ve always found New York City to be. It gives me the warm fuzzies. And that’s the power of pictures.

“You need to let the ordinary things that would ordinarily bore you suddenly thrill you.” – Andy Warhol

What memories does a favourite image bring back for you?
